Julia Davis, Managing Partner, Riot PR, LLC, is the official media spokesperson for South Station on behalf of Equity Office. Acting as the spokesperson as well as the crisis management consultant for the Station, Tanen is responsible for all media inquiries, press stories, and crisis communications.
As part of this work, she managed communications during the Occupy Boston Movement, when members of the group camped in the adjacent lot and frequently used the Station for restroom, phone charging and respite. Tanen worked with reporters to ensure that they were up to date on the activities within the station. This was a sensitive situation given the fact that the Station is a public space.
For all public relations or crisis communications work with South Station, Tanen works with the entire South Station team, including Equity Office (which holds the land lease on South Station), the MBTA, Amtrak and the MBCR to ensure that all parties are in agreement. Tanen will then speak to the media on behalf of all parties at the Station.
In addition, Riot PR managed all crisis media relations during the Marathon Bombing, for all Equity-owned properties including South Station and Rowe’s Wharf, as well as 500 Boylston Street, and 70% of the office buildings in downtown Boston.
Recently Riot PR was hired for a separate project to manage all communications, signage, web and press for the South Station renovation which includes installation of new restrooms, as well as a flagship CVS/pharmacy.
This past October, RPR managed press around the PINK illumination of South Station along with 11 other buildings in the city on behalf of Breast Cancer research. Through this single press effort, we garnered more than 9 million media impressions, not just in Boston but Globally through print, online, and on social media.
